Today is gonna be the day... For Oasis Tickets

I know the world has been set alight with the news that Oasis is headed out on tour and to be fair, it is really exciting given the long time they haven't played together. As of the time of this blog being pubished, you can't get on their official ballot presale form which is similar to how Taylor Swift released her tickets, but with Oasis, you get a general sale opportunity so there is still a chance for all of you to get tickets! Want my secret ticket tips? Just keep reading!

First - as a disclaimer: I believe in buying tickets early at on sale times – especially for small shows  to ensure that the shows can go ahead as planned. I believe in supporting the arts and easily attend over fifty concerts a year of all size from 40 seat venues to 92,500 seeing Taylor Swift... I'm there.

Support small and local artists and support your big artists too – just don’t support the scalpers! ❤

Here are my top tips to ensure I never have to miss a show!

  1. While the queue itself cannot be beat when the tickets go live, make sure you show up anywhere from 20-10 minutes before the on sale time. You’re still given a random place in the queue but, it makes getting in much easier and less stressful.

  2. The days are gone when you need to hit refresh on your browser. Do not hit refresh or you’ll lose your place and have to start again. It's not even that far in the past! Maybe only 3-5 years? But don't hit refresh!

  3. This can be hit and miss, but if tickets are available on both AXS and Ticketmaster for example, have a browser open for each site to boost your odds - Best is to have it open on one computer and another say laptop/phone etc. (Eg, AXS for one and Ticketmaster on another)

  4. Register for ALL of the presale lists. Whether that’s O2 Priority, Signing up as a “friend of” to a specific venue, artist mailing lists, livenation, and closely watch the socials of your favourite artists. It can seriously be a full time job... But it's worth it!

  5. Do not give in to dynamic pricing. I know how tempting it is when you are dying to see your favourite artist. But do not do it. For example – When purchasing Madonna tickets, they offered me seats for £400 each in the nosebleeds. I walked away and checked a few minutes later, when they offered me excellent lower bowl seats for £150 each. The system will learn your buying behaviours and don’t be afraid to walk away when being asked to pay more than face value direct from the ticket retailers. Terrifying ... I know. Trust me I know… But I have never missed a concert that I wanted to attend even when I didn’t buy straight away. The scalper action on Taylor Swift especially was so devastating and so many people were scammed out of money either via stubhub or facebook etc. Don't give in to the scalpers. And don't go out of your comfort zone on dynamic pricing... ever. If you wouldn't rationally pay £400 to sit in the nosebleeds... don't do it because you panicked. You'll thank yourself later.

  6. If you weren’t successful on the on sale day, keep checking back. Especially in the weeks leading up to it. There are always resale tickets available either via twickets, and ticketmaster/ whatever the ticket retailer is. Ticketmaster will 9/10 time release additional tickets for the show the two days, day before and day of show. For example – Ticketmaster released a ton of Taylor Swift tickets day of show in August and opened up many seats, same with ACDC and lots of the arena and stadium shows have the same as they’re looking at sight lines when the venues are set up to see if they can open more up. Of course, I can't 100% guarantee it or guarantee that you'll have amazing seats, but this has worked for me every time I've looked.

  7. You can get last minute deals often on twickets  - I went to ACDC & Bruce Springsteen this summer and paid much less than face value just buying tickets the day before. There were several other Hyde Park shows for cheap, and I also went to the Scorpions and VIP Bananarama earlier this year as I grabbed a ticket less than face value on twickets.  There's always a way! You just gotta be dedicated!

All in all, panic is the enemy when buying tickets, do your best and good luck on the on sale dates, otherwise, keep your eyes wide open for ticket drops and resales! There are lots of ways you'll be able to get in!

Good luck - Enjoy the show! <3
